Gardening Service

South Liverpool Homes' Gardening Service could help you if you are over 60, have a disability and are struggling to maintain your own garden.

How does the service work?

The service we provide is a Garden Tidy Service, which is offered at a subsidised cost of £10.00 per month.  Every month of the year we will come to your home and carry out appropriate jobs depending on the season.  These include:

  • Grass cutting
  • Leaf clearing
  • Privet hedge trimming and pruning
  • Shrubs pruning
  • Moss clearing from paths
  • Snow clearing from paths and steps
  • Path gritting.

Who carries out the work?

The work is carried out by a skilled team who are employed locally.  Members of the team will wear identification badges when they arrive at your home.  It is important that you ask to see their badges before allowing anyone into your home.

Who is the service for?

Currently, we are not able to offer the service to all our tenants.  To be eligible for this service you must:

  • Be over 60, registered disabled or are struggling to maintain your own garden due to other medical disabilities and in receipt of Personal Independence Payment at the Enhanced Rate.
  • Have no relatives living with you or in the Speke/Garston area, or friends who are unable to carry out the work.

I’m interested! How do I sign up?

Contact the Gardening Team on 0330 303 3000 where we will assess whether you qualify.  If you do, you will be asked to come into the office with your bank details, and to sign a service agreement which lets you know what you can expect from the service and what your responsibilities are.

Please note – this service is in high demand therefore you may have to wait a while before there is a free space available.
