Planned Improvements Programme
SLH carry out improvements to your home through our Planned Improvements Programme. This includes works such as replacement or upgrade of kitchens, bathrooms and heating systems. It also includes the Fencing Programme.
When the time comes for your home to be included in any of the above programmes, we will let you know when it is going to happen, who will do it and when it is likely to start and finish.
Cyclical maintenance includes the maintenance to your windows, gutters and downpipes and painting of any previously painted external walls. These works are carried out over a 7 year cycle.
Every year we will carry out a gas safety check in your home. This is to make sure that your gas appliances are safe and in good condition. Surprisingly, there are some tenants who don’t let us into their home to do the check. If you don't allow us in, we will cancel non-essential repairs and maintenance to your home until it is carried out.
Carbon monoxide detectors
We are rolling out a programme to install carbon monoxide detectors in all homes that have a gas fire, solid fuel burner or a boiler in a bedroom. The detectors will be fitted as part of your annual gas safety check so it’s really important you let us in to your home so that the test can be carried out and your detector can be fitted. The purpose of the detector is to give you early warning if any carbon monoxide is leaking into your home. If your alarm goes off, contact SLH immediately and we will get our engineer to visit your home within 2 hours.
