From April 2013, the Government introduced a new benefit called Personal Independence Payment (PIP) to replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for eligible working age people aged 16 to 61.
Who will be affected?
All working age claimants of DLA will be reassessed for PIP, meaning some people may have their benefits reduced. It is expected that 20% of people who currently receive DLA will lose their benefit entitlement. Children under 16 will not be affected by this change and will still receive DLA.
