South Liverpool Homes (SLH) was one of nine local housing associations taking part in Employability 2016 at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Tuesday, with thousands of jobseekers flocking to the event from across the city.
Over 100 employers from across Merseyside attended the event, together with recruitment agencies, advice, training and education providers, offering employment opportunities, careers advice, apprenticeships and specific vocational qualifications.
The event took place from 10am to 2pm at the iconic city centre venue, with employers large and small getting a unique opportunity to engage directly with thousands of prospective local employees.
SLH joined Cobalt, LHT, LMH, Riverside, One Vision, Plus Dane Housing, Regenda and Your Housing Group, who in partnership with Liverpool in Work, The Social Enterprise Network and Jobcentre Plus, all offered access to employment and training opportunities.
SLH had a great response from South Liverpool residents who registered with our Enterprise Team to get the inside line on the latest local job opportunities. SLH has strong links with local employers in Speke and Garston, including Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Crowne Plaza and New Mersey Retail Park.
The Think South Liverpool team was also on hand to promote South Liverpool as the place to live, work and play.
Laura Murphy, Enterprise Officer for SLH said, “I’m delighted with the local response to Employability 2016 and would like to thank everyone who registered with us to find out about the latest jobs in our area. We spoke to lots of talented people with a rich variety of work experience.
“We are looking forward to helping local people connect with our growing network of local employers and training providers.”
