Over 100 tenants in south Liverpool received Christmas hampers last week as part of South Liverpool Homes’ (SLH) festive celebrations.
Senior managers and staff dressed as elves, Santa and snowmen and were carried in decorated vans to visit tenants most in need on Monday 12 December. They were also joined by partner organisations including Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Inside the hampers were essentials such as vegetables, soup and pies and treats such as mince pies and biscuits to get them through the holiday period.
Julie Fadden, Chief Executive of South Liverpool Homes said, “Christmas can be a difficult time of year for lots of people so it’s lovely to be able to offer a helping hand to those most in need.”
“This is the 11th year running that the hamper delivery has taken place and each year is just as special as the last,” continued Julie. “It’s a great start to the festivities and a real boost to the people we deliver to.”
Staff extended their festive visit to local primary schools where seven children won a brand new bike from SLH’s Winter Community Prize Draw, just in time for Christmas.
The Christmas hamper delivery has become a tradition at SLH, where every year staff who work closely with individuals and families, nominate tenants who they feel are most in need of a hamper.
