Radio City DJ Lee Butler was the star attraction at Upton Green, Speke on Sunday 21 August, when the street played host to a Happy Street party.
The Speke neighbourhood won the honour of hosting the party thanks to some awesome local fundraising in aid of charity Cash for Kids, which raises money for disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK. Upton Green raised over £5,000 in less than two weeks to win the right to host the party.
Holding a street party so close to Bank Holiday Monday is always a risky business, but the weather was kind and local children and their families had a fantastic day, which saw the road closed and fun, food and music laid on.
We’d like to congratulate Upton Green for their fantastic fundraising efforts, and Radio City for making Upton Green one Happy Street!
