National Careers Service advice sessions at South Liverpool Homes

Need a helping hand getting into work? Starting on Thursday 28 April, our partners at the National Careers Service will be offering free careers advice to help you break down the barriers to employment.

The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to help tenants make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities. The service offers confidential and impartial advice free and is supported by qualified careers advisers.

We know that everyone has the ability and potential to develop and grow in their lives and careers. However we also understand that sometimes things get in the way and can hold people back.

The National Careers Service aims to:

  • help with careers decisions and planning
  • support tenants to review their skills and abilities and develop new goals
  • motivate them to implement their plan of action
  • enable tenants to make the best use of high quality career related tools.

They also have specific advice for people in certain situations, including:

  • dealing with redundancy
  • returning to work after having children
  • being an older worker
  • looking for work with a criminal record
  • returning to work after long-term sickness or injury
  • advice for students with disabilities
  • working in the uk
  • working from home
