South Liverpool Homes (SLH) is set to co-host Bright Lights, an exciting retail and hospitality training programme at its new Reach employability hub in September, targetting local young people looking to capitalise on employment opportunities at the New Mersey Retail Park.
Working in conjunction with Liverpool in Work and The Source Academy, SLH will host the first two days of a five-week course on 5-6 September at the new Reach employability hub situated in Speke Library, Parklands.
The remainder of the training course will take place at David Lloyd Leisure close to the New Mersey Retail Park.
The training is open to unemployed people aged 16-24 with an interest in working in the retail and hospitality industries and combines classroom coaching with a work placement with one of New Mersey Retail Park’s top retail, food and beverage brands.
South Liverpool Homes Enterprise Manager Joe Cummings said: “The training course is a great opportunity for local young people who are about to receive their exam results and is timed to coincide with seasonal recruitment at New Mersey Retail Park.
“Students will get hands-on experience, expert coaching and qualifications in retail, customer service and health and safety, as well as help boosting confidence in job interviews.
”We’re excited to kick-off the training at our new Reach hub, which brings training and advice providers together with jobseekers and major local employers.”
Young people interested in Bright Lights can find out more by registering for a Taster Day on 31 August at Reach. To book a place please email Rachel Gavin at Liverpool in Work on Rachel.Gavin@liverpool.gov.uk.
